24b Limousine by Dinky Toys

This is a very rare example of the pre-war Dinky 24b Limousine. It has the 2nd type criss-cross chassis and the 3rd type radiator with overriders (intact). It is all original with a lot of chipping to the blue paint of the body and the maroon paint of the chassis. There is one small blister to the bonnet but apart from that there is no sign of metal fatigue or distortion. I can't recall seeing this colour combination with blue hubs before, but those are also clearly original with hard white tyres. Yes, it has plenty of chips but I like the patina and sense of age - it is after all coming up to its 80th birthday soon. A lovely very early Dinky from the first five years of production.
