24g Sports Tourer 4 Seater by Dinky Toys

This is a lovely example of the first of the pre war Dinky 24 series - a 24g four-seater sports tourer. Dinky started production of these in 1934 but I would say this one dates from 1935 as it has the second-type criss-cross chassis combined with the first-type 'Tootsie' hubs, still with a lot of the original silvering in place. The second-type radiator is also very good with almost all the silvering still there. The hard white tyres are original and so is all the paintwork. The brown chassis has some original 'flash' in the smaller holes, a small and stable crack in one wing and no other sign of fatigue. There are a few small chips only. The yellow body has a little fatigue cracking at the rear, on the outside only, but this is strong and stable with no distortion. There is a fatigue blister on one side just in front of the (original) windscreen and a few small chips. It is a lovely and impressive model in very good overall condition.
